Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics (CINAP), located at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), is recently founded under the roof of Korea Institute for Basic Science (IBS) which is established mainly to secure creative knowledge and fundamental technology for the future through world-class basic science research in Korea. The CINAP goals are to perform outstanding research in the fields of fundamental and applied physics of low dimensional structures and to produce young scientists committed to nanophysics and nanoscience.

1. 모집 분야 및 자격

The structural analysis group of the newly founded Center for Integrated Nano-structure Physics (CINAP), a Basic Sciences Institute Korea is seeking postdocs to join the group.

The structural analysis group, as its name suggests, will conduct in-depth analysis on the structure of new materials, in particular 2D materials and other nano-materials based on electron microscopy. A key research aspect of the group will be the development of in-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The in-situ investigations can be split into three categories:

1. In-situ studies on the growth of nanostructures by thermal chemical vapor deposition.

2. In-situ investigations on electron-sample interactions.

3. In-situ structure-property investigations. This will involve the development of electrically contacted specimens and devices being characterized with atomic resolution. The specimens/devices will then be structurally modified using a variety of techniques to study the role of structure, doping and contamination on low dimensional devices.

Within the group we are seeking post-doctoral researchers with experience in at least two of the following:

a. Experience with the synthesis of low dimensional materials, in particular carbon nanotubes, graphene, hBN, WS2 etc.

b. Experience in device fabrication (Viz. clean room experience, lithographic techniques including EBL).

c. Transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM, STEM, SAED, EDX, EELS, image simulation etc.)

Preference is given to points a and b.
